Hello, I'm an American trying to plan a two week or so through hike in Australia or New Zealand. I'm going to be studying abroad in Byron Bay starting August 31 but want to do a hike on my own. I arrived in NZ 2 days ago - I got a cheap flight last minute and decided to fly over to visit a friend. I dont really know a great deal about the place but I am staying for a month so does anyone have any suggestions of things to do and see?
